General Director

Tim Kaunov

Tim Kaunov graduated from the Kyiv Shevchenko State University holding the Degree in Geophysics. In 1982-1992 he was a member of geological and geophysical teams exploring Africa, the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans. In 1996 Tim Kaunov joined the Company as Technical Director and in 1999 he was appointed JV PPC General Director. Tim has two sons and daugter. His hobbies are guitar playing and snowboarding.

Technical Director

Richard Bily

Richard Bily graduated from the Ivano-Frankivsk Technical University holding the Degree in Mining. In 1993 he was a trainee at the Cairo University and worked in the Red Sea oil and gas fields. Since 1994 Richard Bily has been with JV PPC. He has participated in numerous well drilling and workover projects involving advanced techniques and technologies developed by leading western and local companies and supervised the first coiled tubing well stimulation project conducted by B.J.– NOWSCO in Ukraine. In 1997 Richard Bily was appointed the Chief Drilling Engineer and since 2002 he has been the JV PPC Technical Director. In 1999 Richard joined the Society of Petroleum Engineers International. In 2002 he was granted the Professional Certificate in Management of the Open University (UK). Married and has three children. Keen on athletics.

Finance Director

Gene Palenka

Gene Palenka graduated from the Kharkiv State University holding the Diplomas in Economics and Foreign Languages. In 1995 he studied economics and legal and political systems of Canada within the Canadian-Ukrainian Parliamentary Programme. In 1995 he worked in the First Ukrainian International Bank and at the Research Triangle Institute, USA. In 1997 Gene took the Master Degree in Economics (the Oklahoma State University, USA). In 2000 he was qualified by the international Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (АССА). In 1997 Gene Palenka was appointed the JV PPC Chief Economist and since 1999 he has been the JV PPC Finance Director. Gene is married and has two daughters. Keen on tennis and ski mountaineering. Enjoys classical music.
